When Ruger re-introduced the New Bearcat in 1993, the first 1000 manufactured came with both matching 22LR and 22Mag cylinders. The manufacturer attempted to recall the 22 Mag cylinder by sending out a letter describing a timing issue, and asking owners to send in the 22 magnum cylinders to get them fixed or re-timed, etc. It is believed there are only a couple hundred of these convertible Bearcats out in collector’s hands today. This New Bearcat Convertible Revolver has beautiful engraving on both the 22LR and 22Mag cylinders. Both cylinders lock up very tight and appear to show little use since 1993. Close inspection of this Bearcat indicates it may have been lightly fired with the 22LR cylinder and likely never fired using the 22 Mag cylinder. There are very faint roll marks on the 22 LR cylinder. In fact, the roll marks on the 22 LR cylinder could be from someone handling the pistol and rolling the cylinder or dry fire, etc. Each cylinder has the last three digits of the serial (542) number EP’ed on the front of cylinders. This revolver comes with an original Yellow Box, Instruction Manual for the New Bearcat Convertible along with the matching serial number written on the front of manual, and the letter from the manufacturer regarding the “timing” issue of the 22 Mag cylinder. Overall, the condition of the pistol is in excellent matching condition. The bore is shiny with sharp lands and grooves. The blue finish is 97% Excellent condition, and the wood grips are in Excellent condition with no blemishes to speak of. Contact me 325 291 4791.
