Mauser Model 66. These beautifully built rifles were designed by Walther Gehmann, and they feature a telescoping bolt, double-set triggers, and a blind magazine.
This example is in .30-06, and has a 23.6" barrel (60cm) with an excellent bore. There is a barrel-band front sling swivel, a barrel-band mounted ramped front sight, and a rear sight with one folding leaf. A German Wetzlar 4x scope is mounted in claw mounts. The action is extremely smooth, and the double-set triggers function perfectly. The lightly figured walnut stock has a rosewood fore-end tip and rosewood grip-cap. There is skip-line checkering, and a Bavarian-style cheek-piece. The wood is solid with a variety of scratches. The length of pull is 13 ¾" including a factory butt-plate. The weight is 7 lbs 3 oz (without the scope) and 8 lbs 4 oz (with the scope.) A very cool hunting rifle.
